The Unappreciated Literature

Although I do not agree with what you've just said, I'll defend your right to the death to say it.

This and Whedon’s run with Astonishing X-Men were my formal introduction to the wider world of (American) comics. My fiance’s room-mate was a collector and I would sit in their apartment devouring them by the stack.
I distinctly recall getting up in the middle of the night (I would sleep over on the weekends) on multiple occasions JUST TO READ MORE.

I’ve only been reading actual American comics in any quantity for about four or five years now; before I stumbled across Thunderbolts trades at my local library, I’d only ever watched the cartoons and read information on the internet. If not for a lot of people (all guys, incidentally) loaning me books, sending me links, and talking with me about them, I probably wouldn’t be interested in comics today.
So if you like this blog, do me a favor: be a guide, not a gatekeeper.

Rouge as leader of the Thunderbolts.

Ever see one of those ideas that will never happen, but are too perfect that they must?

How did I totally forget about Rogue??

that would be amazing if it were to ever happen…

So after round 3 of The Avengers, reading his (very) 80s miniseries and rereading Avengers: Disassembled… I’m really liking Hawkeye. Not in an over-the-top way; he’s very much a second-stringer but it works for the character (and perhaps gains him some sympathy points.)
I just have a thing for unapologetically cocky assholes. It looks even harsher on him, too, since the only emotions I’ve seen him display are bitterness and anger at being repeatedly shafted (by life, women, Loki, etc). Understandable, but he’ll probably have a douchebaggy quip ready before you get too sympathetic. He owns the attitude problems just like he owns his permanent background position. You’ve gotta respect that.
And Renner gives great jerk-face (which is probably why I fall short on finding him attractive). I kind of want to punch him and hug him at the same time. Which is what Hawkeye is all about, really.

This is absolutely true. You should consider catching his run with the Thunderbolts.
